Platform location: S 23° 27' 40.8" / E 18° 01' 01.1"
Focal length of the telescope: 1690mm, aperture: 340mm
It is a custom-made lightweight telescope that can be tracked smoothly in both axes. Even heavy eyepieces such as a 26mm Nagler can be used without any problems.
The main mirror is provided with a highly reflective multilayer coating (96% in the visual range), which was recently recoated (June 2024).
Due to its thickness of only 26mm, the mirror made of optical glass cools down quickly, so the imaging performance is maintained even when the temperature changes during the night. The telescope is equipped with a 2" helical eyepiece focuser from KineOptics including a 1 1/4" reduction, a Rigel Quickfinder for rough alignment and an additional 8x50 optical finder with an upright, laterally correct image - this makes orientation in the sky much easier even for the less experienced observer. The brighter Messier objects can be seen directly in the finder.
A height-adjustable astro chair is provided for relaxed observation.
The eyepiece set provided from the AR series fits perfectly with the f/5 aperture ratio and shows sharp images even at the edge of the field of view.
